Automation Mailing & Shipping Solutions is a subsidiary of Automation Fastening, Inc. In 1943, the founder, Warren S. Johnson, started Automation as a fastener and staple company concentrating on shipping supplies. The Company is still located on W. 9th Street in Cleveland, Ohio, almost 60 years later.
In 1962, the Company added the FP mailing line of equipment. Automation is the oldest and largest Francotyp-Postalia dealer in the country. The Company continued adding other product lines such as SECAP and RENA printers; postal software programs such as First Logic's POSTALSOFT, SATORI, BCC Mail Manager and Smart Addresser 2020; PFE's line of folders/inserters; Opex Omation products such as letter openers; PROFOLD to meet the needs of higher end clients with tabbers and folders; equipment for tracking valuable incoming packages delivered by various carriers; a complete line of office furniture and design; MOS Accounting to track piece count and dollar volume of each department or client base and Multicarrier Shipping Systems which interface directly with FP mailing systems and more. The Company has a total of 32 product lines to meet the mailing and shipping needs of its growing client base.
Automation Fastening, Inc. is a family owned and operated business with the second generation taking the lead to move Automation forward. The focus of President & CEO, James Warren Johnson, is outstanding customer service delivered by his staff of 14. Incoming calls are handled promptly with a friendly staff member instead of voice mail. The inside support staff has years of experience dealing with our client base.
The technicians are required to be thoroughly trained in the technical aspects of a product before the company can represent a line. The technicians are responsible for installation, training on new equipment installs. The sales staff is trained by representatives of the manufacturer to understand product capabilities and how to best match that with a client's particular need. The Company's product showroom is used to demonstrate equipment to clients.
Automation Fastening's focus on customer service has been exemplified by several awards: The Platinum Award by Francotyp-Postalia (FP Mailing Services) is given to only five Dealers a year. Automation Mailing & Shipping Solutions, Inc., has been an annual recipient of this award since its inception. Automation has also received the ELITE DEALER AWARD which recognizes exemplary sales and service performance as well as corporate citizens in giving back to the community. The Company has received the FP Number 1 Dealer award since 1962: four Platinum Awards: four ELITE Dealer Awards: DATATECH Elite Dealer Award: RENA Elite Dealer Awards and the largest Manifest Dealer in Ohio.
Members of this staff are encouraged to act as volunteers in community activities. Some of these organizations include church organizations, not for profits, Cleveland Orchestra and Beck Center, Cleveland Postal Council and Akron Postal Council Board members: Greater Akron Chamber Committee member: Greater Cleveland Growth Association Volunteer: and membership committee of Rocky River Chamber: West Shore Chamber as well as others.
